Baclands has begun work on the conversion of a commercial office building into new residential accommodation, delivered on a full design-and-build basis.
We are responsible for the project from the outset: planning, design and technical drawings, Building Regulations compliance and Building Control, utility connections, and construction through to handover. Under the Building Regulations, Baclands acts as both Principal Designer and Principal Contractor, giving the client a single point of responsibility from the first drawing to the final certificate.
Commercial-to-residential conversions bring their own technical demands, with fire safety, acoustic separation, ventilation and drainage all needing to meet the standards for new homes within an existing structure. We look forward to sharing progress as the project develops.
